It is possible that the Badland Dandies would never have seen the inside of a Blood Bowl stadium if it weren't for the adventurous spirit and incredible bad luck of their coach Orkdysseus. He was just a lowly Orc boy when he discovered a treasure map nestled among several piles of loot gathered by his tribe, and after he had found a human captive to read it to him, managed to persuade several others to follow him on a quest to find the treasure. Accompanied by his first mate, the Black Orc Orkamemnon, and his extremely large but extremely dim cousin Neoptrollemus, Orkdysseus forged a way to the coast, stole the first ship he came across and set sail for the mystical Isle of Islay, where he was sure untold wealth would await him. The winds were good and the Orcs made great time; unfortunately, the Isle was a complete fabrication by the human captive whom Orkdysseus had questioned, and in fact what the Orc had believed to be a treasure map was actually a child's drawing of a spaghetti bolognese . After spending ten years sailing round in circles looking for a place that didn't exist, encountering scores of dangerous mythical creatures along the way, a now one-legged, one-eyed and rather bitter Orkdysseus and his remaining crew finally gave up the ghost and returned home to his trib. Once again, however, bad luck struck hard, for the warboss Penelorcpe had decided the week before that his Orcs needed to find pastures new and had upped and left without leaving behind any trace of where they had gone. Despondent and quite annoyed, Orkdysseus vowed never to go near the sea again, and determined to gain the riches he dreamed of in some other way. A chance encounter with a wandering set of Greenfield Grasshuggers fans provided the Orcs with the perfect idea (as well as quite a nourishing meal): to form a team and play Blood Bowl. Ordysseus and his crew melted what treasures they had found down to make some rather snazzy armour, and the Badland Dandies were formed. With a mix of brute strength and the sneakiness of the former Goblin cabin boys, not to mention the passionate exhortations of Orkdysseus from the sidelines, the Dandies have been tipped to go all the way in the inaugural ESPN league.
