The Cheese Thieves were formed from a group of former Skaven bandits who operated in the deep forests of Talabecland. Led by their grizzled, cunning and incredibly paranoid* ex-Packmaster Swarthy Sir Terence, the bandits terrorised merchant wagons the length of the great Altdorf Road. At least they did, until one fateful day when the bandits raided a wagon full of Hubschstilton Royal Cheese that had been on its way to the Altdorf Guild of Folk Tales and Nursery Rhymes. After driving off the guards and gorging themselves on the delicious and smelly contents, however, the Skaven joy turned to despair. The Hubschstilton was no ordinary cheese, for it had been cursed,not just with a foul and fetid stench but also with a powerful enchantment that had been placed on it by the infamous witch Delilah Muffet. Sick of her constant infant diet of curds and whey, Miss Muffet had conspired with her pet spider to bewitch the Stilton, forcing whoever ate it to crave cheese night and day. The poor Skaven bandits found that they could eat nothing else but coagulated dairy products from that day forth. When the local pantries were exhausted all seemed lost, until Terence thought up an amazing solution: to form a Blood Bowl team and use their winnings to purchase all the cheese they could ever need. Thus the Cheese Thieves were born. With their fans belting out their chant of 'Things can only get Feta' and the team's ravenous desire to check if the ball contains any dairy, the Cheese Thieves have been tipped to go far in the inaugural ESPN League...
*an excellent survival trait for a Skaven
